Mikvahs

Surfside punches far above its size as an Orthodox community. The Shul of Bal Harbour is one of the most prominent Chabad institutions in the country, drawing thousands on Shabbat and Yom Tov and hosting its own mikvah complex. Young Israel of Bal Harbour serves a large Modern Orthodox contingent. Three additional Sephardic congregations — Magen David, Hechal Shalom Or Oziel, and The Sephardic Center — reflect a strong Syrian and North African community presence.

Harding Avenue is the community’s main street: Grove Kosher Market anchors the grocery needs, with a full kosher restaurant row that includes The Harbour Grill, Kosh, Neya, Rustiko Dairy, and more within a few blocks. Collins Avenue condos like The Waves, Spiaggia, and Solimar were built with Shabbat elevators and are marketed directly to observant families. This is South Florida’s most self-contained walkable Jewish enclave — expensive, but everything you need is within a 10-minute walk.
