Teaneck is the center of Modern Orthodox life in the New York metro area outside of the Five Towns and Riverdale. Eight Orthodox shuls serve distinct communities: Congregation Bnai Yeshurun (CBY) is the anchor on West Englewood Ave, joined by Rinat Yisrael and Shaarei Orah (Sephardic) on the same corridor. Beth Aaron and Young Israel anchor the south end near Queen Anne Road.

Cedar Lane is the commercial hub: Cedar Market handles full-service groceries under RCBC supervision, Estihana draws diners from across Bergen County, and Sababa, Schnitzel+, and La Cucina Di Nava fill out a real restaurant row. Torah Academy of Bergen County (TABC) and Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School serve the Orthodox secondary school market. New luxury apartments — The Marq, Teaneck Square, and Avalon — have been built or renovated with the Orthodox community in mind, within the Teaneck-Bergenfield Area Eruv.

Note: the eruv runs in two independent sections (north and south of Route 4). Always confirm status at tberuv.org or call (201) 530-0222 before Shabbat.
