Is there an eruv in Lakewood?
There is no single community-wide eruv in Lakewood, and whether to rely on any eruv there is contested. It is a question for your rav, not for a map.
Background
Several neighborhood eruvin cover different sections of town and are maintained separately.
In December 2017, rabbonim from both the yeshiva and chassidish circles signed a letter opposing an attempt to merge eruvin into a city-wide structure, writing that the matter had been ruled on some twenty years earlier and that there would not be a city-wide eruv. Further letters followed in 2018.
Roshei yeshiva including Rav Shneur Kotler and Rav Matisyahu Salomon are reported to have held that the eruv should not be relied on, and a great many Lakewood families do not carry at all.
Good to know
- ShulMap does not publish status lines for a contested eruv โ doing so would be taking a side. Ask your own rav, and ask about your specific neighborhood.

Frequently asked questions

There is no single community-wide eruv in Lakewood, and whether to rely on any eruv there is contested. It is a question for your rav, not for a map.
Can I carry on Shabbos in Lakewood?
That is a question for your own rav. Several neighborhood eruvin cover different sections of town and are maintained separately. ShulMap takes no position and maps no boundary.
Why doesn't ShulMap list an eruv status line for Lakewood?
Because relying on the eruv here is disputed, publishing one side's status line would be taking a side in the machlokes. ShulMap lists status lines only where an eruv is communally accepted.
Eruv: Eruv boundaries are shown for orientation only and reflect the boundary, not live up/down status. Always confirm with your local rav or the eruv hotline before relying on them.
