What it covers
In the eruv's own words, it was begun in 1999 as a local eruv on the Upper West Side and now encloses most of the borough of Manhattan. It is built and supervised by Mechon L'Hoyroa in Monsey, and endorsed and supported by local rabbis and community leaders.
Lower Washington Heights has a separate eruv, which the site says is now connected to the Mount Sinai Eruv and the YU Eruv — see the maps and notes on eruv.nyc for the connections.
Outside the eruv
- 9th and 10th Avenues between 20th and 22nd Streets, because of construction, until further notice (as posted on 23 September 2026)
