Kosher and daily life
Hungarian Kosher Foods handles the full weekly shop, with additional kosher restaurants and bakeries across Skokie and West Rogers Park. Between the two neighborhoods the kosher infrastructure is among the deepest in the Midwest.
Schools
Skokie is a day-school hub: Hillel Torah North Suburban Day School (preschool–8), Fasman Yeshiva High School at Hebrew Theological College, and Ida Crown Jewish Academy all serve the community, alongside the mosdos of West Rogers Park. As anywhere, start school conversations early.
Getting around
Skokie is a short drive or CTA Yellow Line ride from the city, with easy access to Edens Expressway for commuting. Within the community, the shuls, kosher market, and schools are close enough that many families walk on Shabbos and drive only short distances the rest of the week.
