The Orlando Torah Center on Banyan Boulevard is an Ashkenazi Orthodox congregation affiliated with the Chofetz Chaim yeshiva network, running daily minyanim and, through the Orlando Torah Academy, a day school from 18 months through 8th grade. Chabad of South Orlando, a short distance away on West Sand Lake Road, anchors the other half of communal life. Those two are the community’s year-round shuls — a small list, but both run daily minyanim, which is what makes the area genuinely liveable rather than only visitable. Older girls go to Meoros in Bay Hill and boys to Yeshiva of Central Florida.
An eruv maintained by Orlando Torah Academy covers Sand Lake Hills, Orange Tree and the Palm Lake area, plus parts of Hidden Springs and Bay Park — which is effectively the residential heart of the community, and worth knowing before you pick a street. It is checked weekly and the sidewalks on Wallace and Apopka-Vineland are outside it, so call 407-412-3199 to confirm before relying on it and follow your own rav.
Because Orlando is a world tourism capital, this is also one of the most-searched-for communities by observant families who are visiting — for Disney, Universal, or a Central Florida simcha — and need a Shabbos minyan and kosher food.
