On the eruv: Crown Heights community practice is not to carry on Shabbos. The Lubavitcher Rebbe opposed constructing an eruv in the neighborhood, and the Crown Heights Beis Din has unequivocally opposed the privately built eruv erected in 2016 — the community’s rabbonim do not endorse it.
